1.What’s Pure Tungsten Electrode?
Pure tungsten electrode is a welding electrode manufactured from tungsten with a purity of ≥99.95% and contains no rare-earth oxides or alloying elements. In alternating current TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, pure tungsten electrode serves as the primary discharge medium for welding aluminum, magnesium, and their alloys. Through high-purity tungsten powder pressing, high-vacuum melting, and precision machining processes, CTIA produces pure tungsten electrode with a dense microstructure (≥19.25 g/cm³), enabling stable arc discharge under high-frequency AC (Alternating Current) polarity switching conditions.

(1) High Purity and Environmentally Friendly: Purity reaches ≥99.95% and contains no radioactive elements such as thorium, ensuring safe and environmentally responsible use.
(2) High Melting Point and Low Vapor Pressure: With a melting point of approximately 3410°C, pure tungsten electrode exhibits low consumption and long service life at elevated temperatures.
(3) Easy Ball Formation Under AC Current: The tip naturally forms a stable spherical end during operation, improving arc stability.
(4) High Welding Purity: No dopant volatilization occurs during welding, minimizing weld pool contamination and ensuring weld quality.

(1) Smaller Diameter: More suitable for low-current applications and precision control in micro-scale operations, including electronics and probe-related applications.
(2) Larger Diameter: Better suited for high-current and high-heat-load conditions, such as thick-section and heavy-duty welding.
(3) AC Welding Applications: Pure tungsten electrode forms stable spherical tips more easily under AC conditions, making it ideal for welding aluminum and magnesium alloys.
(4) Fine-Diameter Electrode: Commonly used for high-precision micro-discharge and precision inspection applications.
